Samskrita-kendram - Rockville and Clarksburg, MD

You are registering for the weekly Samskritam classes conducted by Samskritakendrams at  Rockville and Clarksburg,MD. Samskritakendram provides Samskritam classes for the whole family. Different levels of classes are conducted for adults and children. Our main center is in Rockville at the Robert Frost Middle School. Last year, we started a second kendram at Hallie Wells Middle School, Clarksburg. A separate class is also available for teaching the Devanagari script. This class will teach recognition, pronunciation, and writing of Samskritam/Hindi alphabets. 

When? What are the dates and timings?

• Adults - Beginner level (L1) Rockville in person: Sunday: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm**

• Adults - Intermediate Level (L2)  : Rockville in person: Sunday: 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm**

• Adults - Advanced Level (L3) : Sunday: 9:30 am to 11:00 pm

• Adults - Advanced Level (L4) : Sunday: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm

• Adults - Advanced Level (L5) : Sunday: 9:00 am to 10:30 am

• Adults - Advanced Level (L6) : Sunday: 7:00 am-8:30 am

• Children - All levels - Rockville in person ( age 7-13 or 1st-7th grade): 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm 

• Adults - Beginner level (L1) Clarksburg in person: Saturday: 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm**

• Children- Beginner Level (BL1) Clarksburg in person: Saturday (age 7-13, or 1st-7th grade) : 4:30 pm-6:00 pm 

• Children- Intermediate Level 2 (BL2) Clarksburg in person: Saturday (age 7-13, or 1st-7th grade) : 3:00 pm-4:30 pm 

• Children- (Advanced Level, BL5). Clarksburg in person: Saturday (age 7-13, or 1st-7th grade) : 4:30-6:00 pm

• Devanagari script (Samskritam/Hindi alphabets)* : TBD based on availability and demand

Where is the class conducted?

Classes are conducted in Robert Frost Middle School for the Rockville kendram on Sundays, and Hallie Wells Middle School for the Clarksburg kendram on Saturdays

Who can register?

Children from grades KG to grades 7 are eligible to enroll for the children’s classes. Parents and other adults are also encouraged to join the Kendram. Adults who registered are expected to know at least one Indian language, since the teaching methodology leverages Sanskrit vocabulary from other Indian languages.
